Comments: Although 3 former or current WV state champs lost, the competition was tough. The March 4, 2005 issue of Pennsylvania Wrestling News ranked Smetana #11 at 119 in PA AA; ranked Rose #1 at 140 in AA; Checkan #4 at 160 in AA; Hartung #12 at 275 in AA; and Hursky #3 at 215 in AAA. The big surprise was at 152 where Patterson with a career record of 96-51 simply wore Richey down with some incredible leg rides and turns. In the 275 match, Haslam was winning 8-0 when he was pinned.Tim Cumpston of Cameron was chosen OW for the OVAC team, and Rose was OW for the MAC.
