Bye Watch - AA/A

Postby Bearhugger » Wed Feb 12, 2020 12:48 am

AAA has been the bye-fest in recent years that have lead to the birth of the TNV aka "Thursday Night Vacancy". Thank God the decision makers made the decision and took corrective action last season.

The TNV Virus appears to be striking AA/A with its 17+ team regions.

In the recently held Coalfield Conference Tournament, the 106lb weight class only had 3 wrestlers. One was from AAA Greenbrier East. Remove Greenbrier East and add in Hoover (Triple H has a 106) and AA/A Region 3 appears to be sitting on only 3 wrestlers at 106.

There could be other factors such as flu, injuries or a school dance that kept some 106s out. Also, I didn't check off the teams that didn't attend that could be in AA/A Region 3. Just be advised of the situation brewing down in the Coalfield Region.

5th place in the other regions might be the ticket.

There were at least two from the region at the WV Girls states that day.

There are no freebies anywhere in AA/A Region 1.

I fell behind and there is not enough time to get it caught up.

Personally, I have always felt that rankings should stop right before regions.

Sarah Harvey Shady Spring, Dempsey Herbert Hoover. Looks like Dempsey is at 113 for regional though. There are 5 in 106 that weighed in though.
