Dalton Michael - 200
Congrats to Dalton Michael for recording his 200th win and capturing a second state title this weekend at the high school state tournament.
Re: Dalton Michael - 200
Outstanding accomplishment !!
How many WV grapplers have captured 200 wins ? A previous thread came up with very few if I recall. Bennett, Jeffries, Hull, Carson.....etc.
Just curious.......

If I heard correctly, when they did the finals introduction, Dalton had 203 wins heading into that match? Anything over 200 is impressive! Congratulations young man!

He beat a great wrestler in the finals. Has always impressed me. Congratulations. Anyone know if dalton plans on wrestling in college?
Re: Dalton Michael - 200
I'm quite sure that he is being recruited by several schools and I know a lot of folks that would love to see Dalton at the next level. Me inclusive......but, not sure what his plans are. Wishing him the best of luck in whatever path he chooses to take.

I've had the pleasure of watching Dalton grow up into a fine young man. The pride, confidence, leadership and character that he brings to the East Fairmont wrestling program are even more impressive than his overall accomplishments. It is a sad truth that we won't see you again in an EF singlet.

Re: Dalton Michael - 200
It was no secret, 152-AA was by far the toughest weightclass at the state tourney. Dalton finished his career with 203 wins, Moore finished with 175 and Robertson ended up with 155. At the state michael had 1 pin and won his other 3 matches by a total of 24 points. Moore had 1 pin and won the other three by 15 total points. Robertson also had one pin and won the other three by 7 points totaled. Moore went into the tourney rated #1 and beat the #2 seed as expected . Robertson at #2 upset the #1 seed. Michael #2 also upset the #1 seed IN BY FAR THE TOUGHEST WEIGHT CLASS ! All three of these young men did great and had tremendous careers. Although, as you can see by above Michaels acheivements were better than the co-outstanding wrestlers. DALTON MICHAEL SHOULD OF HAD A SHARE OF THE OUTSTANDING WRESTLER AWARD. It should of been a tri-MVP award. And once again don't forget, 152 WAS the toughest weight class. Last year 120 was the toughest class and it automatically went to the 120 champion. And most of the time in the past the award has gone to the champion in the toughest class. Oh, and by the way, Moore was 51-1 this year. Robertson was 42-2. Michael was 55-1. Dalton Michael worked his tail off this year and did NOT deserve being left out of the outstanding wrestler award.

TrueSouthFaninPburg.......I totally agree with your post with no disrespect to the two recipients of the award. In fact, I said myself in the "152" thread that was on the forum a few weeks ago that the MOW would come out of this weight class without a doubt. But, apparently some saw it differently and that's ok. I'm not even sure that it needed to be split at all. Again.....with all due respect.
Did Dalton Michael deserve the MOW....?? Probably so without a doubt !! But, that would have just been an nice feather in his cap to an outstanding career at East Fairmont high school. The plaque that he took home can never be taken from him and that's holds true with any state champion. Lots of hard work and dedication makes that prize worth even more to ones that achieve such an accomplishment.
**** Also, Congrats to Dalton for receiving the Big 10 and Times WV wrestler of the year awards !!
