I was asked to post this information regarding Parkersburg South.

First of all, there is not a match on Thursday, February 2.

South will be hosting Morgantown on Saturday, February 4 at 2:00 p.m. It's Alumni Day, and all former South wrestlers are encouraged to attend. South wrestling alumni will be introduced prior to the match. After the match, there will be a reception.

South will also travel to Independence on February 9.

Those are the only remaining dates on the schedule prior to hosting the Region 4 tournament.

I was just informed that Morgantown has backed out wrestling South tomorrow. It's getting tougher and tougher for South to put together a schedule. Some teams will wrestle them every year and some teams will try hard to get them on their schedule, but they can't even get 3 OVAC teams to wrestle them to qualify for the OVAC duals.

As Rick Flair always said...."To be the man you've got to beat the man!" Wooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!

Sad but South should invite some OH and Pa teams and work out a deal for them to overnight and South can go to their place every other year. Just a thought.
Maybe South present team can have a dual with their all time alumni team LOL

The biggest problem there is the fact that the Ohio and PA teams have plenty of teams to schedule close to home. They will let you come to their place and wrestle them, but it's tough to get a home and home contract. They just don't have to do it. South wrestled St Eds and Wadsworth and was in the Olentangy Invitational and Ironman in Ohio.

It occurs to me that we can know who and who is not on the schedule.

We can not know, and there is no reason to speculate why a given team is or is not on the schedule...

Gator, have Shaun talk to EF coaches at states! I am sure they would get you guys on the schedule next year. When I was there, those duals were awesome to have!

Mason, we have talked about wanting the Marion County schools back on the schedule. Also Oak Glen. We have had some great Duals in the past and I'd love to see them renewed. I'll pass it along to coach Smith.

Do South fans get bored on the forum and start talking about #DemSouthBoys out of the blue or is it just me? Yes you have an amazing feeder program that is in place and I respect it but please stop with the gloating we all know your one of the best teams in the state. Thank you!

I don't get "board", but I do get bored. So someone starts a thread about South's schedule and you can't talk about it and if you mention South on another thread that is about something else, you can't do that either?

I get bored too... once in Jr High I also got "the board".

I suggest that in all future posts we no longer use the word S%#&@ and that any post not using "the Patriots" instead be immediately deleted. That way the reader has the option of picking any of several teams to decide that the conversation is going to be about in their contribution on the topic.
However, I don't think Jenny should be held accountable for the indiscretion in naming the current post and it be "grandfathered " for this instance.

Effective immediately, "South" is now short for "South Charleston High School".

Now how can you make such a claim? The rankings mean nothing. On any given day, anybody can beat anybody. Its been happening for years.

Only until February 25th, will we know who the cream is and they will be at the top.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, a team has had to drop out of our Feb 8 quad. We need one team,.. fast. This is a rotating quad. This year the host team is Roane. Details for Wednesday: Weigh-in 5:00pm. Wrestling 6:00pm. Teams - Roane, Herbert Hoover, Bridgeport. Not even my Magic 8 Ball can predict that outcome Bearman. That is a problem the WVSSAC is going to have to address with the coaches around the state. Either that, or feel the wrath of the Bearhugger!!
